How to Use Honey (Besides Just Putting It on Toast)
We all know honey is perfect on a warm biscuit or drizzled over toast — but it’s good for so much more than that.
Around here at O’Honey, we use honey just about every day in some way or another. It’s one of those pantry staples that never goes out of style. If you’re wondering how to use that golden jar sitting on your shelf, here are some of our favorite go-tos:
1. Tea Time Favorite
Stir a spoonful into your morning tea — herbal, black, green — whatever you fancy. It soothes the throat and adds just the right touch of sweetness.
2. DIY Salad Dressing
Whisk together olive oil, vinegar, a bit of mustard, and a spoonful of honey for a quick, no-fuss vinaigrette that tastes better than anything from a bottle. We’ve even made cucumbers and onions with a honey and vinegar mixture.
3. Sweet Tooth Helper
Mix with peanut butter and oats for no-bake energy bites. You’ll find us grabbing these during long hive days when lunch comes late.
4. Natural Skin Soother
Yep — honey isn’t just food. A dab of raw honey on a blemish or dry skin patch can do wonders. Just rinse with warm water and pat dry.
5. Cough and Cold Relief
When someone’s got the sniffles, a spoonful of honey with lemon is our go-to. It’s gentle, natural, and has been used for centuries for a reason.
And of course — sometimes the best way to enjoy honey is straight off the spoon, standing barefoot in the kitchen while dinner’s cooking. (No judgment here.)
Have a favorite way to use honey we haven’t mentioned? I’d love to hear it. Tag us on Facebook, Instagram or send a note — we’re always looking for new ways to put this golden gift to good use.
